Hair 101: Choosing the Right Style

Most of us at some time in our life take a deep swig of our latte as we wistfully stare at the glamour pics of the rich and famous and wonder how they always look so finished and groomed. Their eyebrows seem the perfect shape, there eye make-up never smudged, and their lips perfectly outlined. Then there's their hair. That always seems to perfectly set off their features.
You can console yourself yourself with the knowledge that it is their full-time job to look fabulous and that they probably have a team of professionals standing by to ensure that every eyelash is maximised and every stand of hair is where it should be. But the good news is that there are some simple steps you can take to turn yourself out celebrity polished (well most of the time anyway!)

Looking fabulous starts at the top of your head with a good hairstyle that highlights your best features and downplays the ones you'd rather forget. So, with this in mind I am going to lead you through some of the steps in choosing the right hairstyle.

Ask Yourself

So you've decided that your do needs an update and a tidy-up. Before you rush out the door to see your stylist with an up-to-the-minute picture of your favourite movie star clutched in your hand there are some basic questions you need to ask yourself.

* Do you really like the style, or are you only attracted to it because it seems to be the latest fad?

* How much time do you have to spend on your hair on a daily basis?

* How much money do you wish to spend maintaining your hairstyle?

* Do you have the necessary equipment to maintain the style?

These are all really important questions, but without doubt the major question you need to answer is whether or not your potential style will suit. In the absence is ready and convenient access to a crystal ball, there are some crucial steps that you can take.

First of all you need to consider your face shape. We all have a face that can be fitted into a specific type of face shape and different kinds of hairstyles suit different face shapes. However, many people make incorrect assumptions about their face shape and therefore choose inappropriate hairstyles. Once you know your true face shape you can then find a hairstyle to enhance your face. There are some really
