Hi there everyone, pleased to meet you
I am a new user seeking some help and advice on menstrual cups. Do any of you use one?
I have recently been considering switching from tampons to a reusable cup, I have read extensively about the health and environmental benefits but would love to hear first hand of any real experiences from you. Would you recommend switching? Do you feel the benefits?
Your thoughts would be extremely helpful
Thank you!
Pat

I was always concerned about hygiene, when taking it out and putting it back in. You would have to sanitize your hands before and after all the time. If you don't, you run a risk of spreading Bactria to yourself. And who want to be messin with that, especially in a public washroom. What if you dropped it in the toilet or on the floor ew! I feel tampons are the most convenient and sanitary way to go.

I know a few people that use them and like using them. However, I have no personal experience with them. One of their biggest advantages over tampons is that there hasn't been any cases of TSS (toxic shock syndrome) with them.

I can't even stand using an OB tampon. There's no applicator I won't use it.

Interesting to hear your opinions, I have certainly received mixed reviews.
Still, from what I have heard, the benefits seem to outweigh the bad points no end. The minimised risk of TSS was a big influence for this decision.
I have ordered a Femmecup, which is reusable. I have heard nothing but good reviews about this brand so look forward to trying it.
Thanks’ for your comments : )
Do any other cup users on here use Femmecup? |

I've been using tampons for decades and never worried about that......never had a problem either. I feel it's not catching on like crazy because no one likes the idea of not using an applicator.

Cups are gross and have a high risk of infection. Tampons are not natural and should be avoided. Pads are the only way to go!!!! We bleed. Its natural and the way the universe intended. Lets embrace it and our womanhood.
