Hi- my sister got engaged this past week (exciting!) and it's gotten me thinking of things I need to help her prepare. Our other sister got married 3 years ago so it's been a while (and I've learned a LOT more about weddings) since I've had to plan a shower or help plan a wedding.

Any tips?

I think, depending on their final date, we'll probably do a late Spring bridal shower. My sister loves themes and I want to do something extra unique for her. I found this idea for a Christmas themed shower on the Common Sense Community -- what do y'all think? Stock up on Xmas stuff for later?

I'm not sure about that. It doesn't sound like you were joking when you wrote that so I'm going to address this as if it was a serious proposition.

The timing of the bridal shower is only a few months after the Christmas season. Re-using Christmas decor or re-visiting Christmas again in late spring is not only a little bizarre, it also looks cheap.

Spring shouldn't be cold. Late spring should be warmer (if you're in the northern hemisphere). Recollections of what Christmas is like in spring may throw off guests and your sister.

I'd suggest something Springy or bright. A theme from a fairytale she's enjoyed as a child. The Wizard of Oz, or Alice in Wonderland, or something else of that nature, with green grass and bright skies, and a touch of magic to it.

I think you should go for butterfly theme. A butterfly wedding theme can provide enchanting elegance to your sister's wedding. You can decorate tables with butterfly confetti, floating butterfly candles, and small plant pots filled with wild flowers and butterfly accents. Wedding venue can be decorated with flower garlands and you can also attach colorful butterflies to the garlands here and there.
