hey! i need some advice...
i have a friend who said she felt depressed and now actually is taking meds to deal with it.
i don't quite know what to say or how to address this. i know that in the US it's rather "normal" to be on some mood enhancers (we both currently live in the US but are from Europe). yet, where we grew up its not.
what can i say? is there anything that would make her feel better? i feel like i failed as a friend...
thx for your help |

Well it all depends on what is going on in her life. And yes sometimes it can be a chemical imbalance. What usually helps is physical activities that involves some social interaction. That usually boosts the "happy" chemicals naturally in your brain. You release serotonin when you hug someone or hold your loving pet. Diet and exercise can make a difference too. So maybe suggest some fun things too do with your friend and give them lots of hugs |
