Post subject: Bad reaction to Yaz ...Need Suggestions

 Hi I am new to this site and new to blogging... Anyhoos I have a questions for the ladies who have taken birth control particularly those who have had a bad reactions.
I am 26 and have always had irregular periods. Over the summer I started to notice these little white bumps on my jawline area. Which I new was your hormonal area if you break out there. So in July I went to OBYN and started to take Yaz. Mind you I have never taken B.C. before. So I had questions she was brief and was very generic with her answers.
Almost a month later I followed that up with an dermatologist visit. Then bumps had turned into an acne break out on my jaw line area. It was so bad I had never had skin issues before. So she gave me antibiotics and 2 creams. I told her I thought this was from the Yaz and she assured me it wasn't and told me to continue to take it. For the next 3 months it got progressively worse. Not to mention the Yazmania Devil was taking over. Holy Shit I was depressed moody I Had no Sex drive! Still she told me to continue. Finally almost a month ago I had another appointment with Dr. Dumb Bitch and she nothing was working and wanted me to start taking Aquitaine. Enough said if you know the severity and rep. of that drug. So I went home thought about it and said to myself...Stop taking Yaz this is the cause of this you know it. 2 weeks later skin was clear had a intense facial and presto gone. But I have scaring now or am afraid the dark spots are scars ...Any remedies or suggestions. O and back to the irregular periods again too so is this goign to be a problem? |

Okay, I'm a guy, but I have gone to the doctor for birth control issues with my sister, my wife, and a couple of platonic friends who felt a need for moral support. It sounds to me like you need a different doctor. I do know that some BC pills can cause hormonal issues and that acne is an indirect side effect of those issues. Your irregular periods also sound like a possible hormonal issue (one of my friends had that problem) though I couldn't say for sure as I'm not a doctor myself.
As far as any scarring, that depends on how bad your acne was. I would think the dark spots should clear up, unless your acne is, in fact, some sort of infection. Scars usually show up as dips or depressions in the skin that don't completely fill in (I have them, that's how I know).
In any case, if at all possible, go to a different doctor. |
