I am sure there are plenty of people who do not know what they want in the next stage of their life. I am at this point where I do not know if I want to continue down the career path or veer off into parenthood. I know that I have the option to do both, but I want to fully commit to one or the other. For the past year I have thought about having a baby a lot, to the point where I felt jealous every time I saw a pregnant woman or mother.
I do not know where I want to live either. Do I want to stay where I live now (CA)where it is very expensive and I would have to continue working. Or, should I take a shot and move to another state like AZ where the cost of living is a little less but I will have to start over and probably will delay any progress towards anything.

Has anybody out there felt this way? How did you cope with it? What lead you to your decisions? If anybody would like to post their own experiences and feeling about their situation that would be great, I find that often it is helpful to deal with a situation when you hear what others have gone through or are going through.[addsig]

Everyone faces the crossroad in their life more than once. If you feel you need a change well then go for it. It sounds like you are not truely happy where you are. Is there someone special in your life?

It sounds like you are looking for a change, wanting for a new surrounding or lifestyle to lift you out of the humdrum.

What about close friends? Do you have many friends in CA?

Are you happy with your free time at present? Do you need to find an interest (involving people) to take your life into another sphere? I am asking these questions because, sometimes, we can get "blinkered" to the world because of work and sleep and work and sleep etc without any new stimuli in our lives.

go with what your instincts tell you--and make sure that your #1 priority should be happiness (whether that means lots of money, raising children, not having to worry about finances, having a good job, etc. etc.). if you let happiness and your instincts guide your decisions you will probably end up making the right one regardless of how it works out on paper.[addsig]
